Maths

In Year one we follow White Rose Math just like the rest of the school. Our lessons are broken down into small steps building on previous days and weeks learning. We describe math like a puzzle, we are constantly adding more pieces that will eventually link up.

Our lessons always start with a counting song , followed by number formation. We use Fluency Bee daily to help with our fluency skills and to allow us to work more independently. This is then followed by our main lesson which encourages children to work on a big scale with concrete objects, moving onto the abstract and finally completing tasks in their math books.
